Job Description

**Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer**

**Job Description:**

As an HSE Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the implementation and adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within the organization. You will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety and environmental consciousness.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
2. Develop and implement safety programs and training sessions for employees to enhance awareness and promote a safe working environment.
3. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and recommending correcti actions.
4. Collaborate with departments to assess and control workplace hazards, providing guidance on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
5. Stay abreast of relevant HSE regulations and industry best practices, ensuring organizational compliance and continuous improvement.
6. Maintain and update safety doentation, including risk assessments, emergency response plans, and safety manuals.
7. Conduct regular environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to minimize the organization's environmental footprint.
8. Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
9. Act as a focal point for emergency response procedures, coordinating drills and exercises to prepare employees for potential emergencies.
10. Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging with employees, encouraging open communication, and promoting a sense of personal responsibility for safety.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proven experience in HSE roles, preferably in an industrial or construction setting.

5. Ability to develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures.
6. Proficient in conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
7. Effective communication skills to convey safety information to employees at all levels.
8. Familiarity with incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
9. Capability to provide HSE training to employees and facilitate emergency response drills.
10. Skill in developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address safety issues proactively.
12. Ability to collaborate with various departments to promote a safety-oriented culture.
13. Certification in relevant HSE programs
14. Proficient in using HSE management systems and software.
15. Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks associated with safety inspections and emergency response.
