Job Overview:
A Boom Truck Driv is responsible for safely operating a boom truck to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites, industrial facilities, or other work locations. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Operation: Operate the boom truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines. Perform pre- and post-operation equipment checks.
Material Handling: Lift, position, and transport heavy materials and equipment using the boom truck. This may include steel beams, construction materials, machinery, or other items as required.
Load Securement: Ensure that all loads are properly secured to prevent accidents or damage during transport.
Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of the boom truck, including checking oil, water, and other fluid levels. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions for timely repairs.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors. Follow instructions and work collaboratively with other workers on the site.
Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and protocols. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including equipment maintenance, fuel usage, and any incidents or accidents.
Compliance: Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the operation of boom trucks and other heavy equipment.
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a boom truck.
Experience operating a boom truck and working in the construction or related industry.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
Physical strength and stamina to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy objects.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and a strong focus on safety.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and in outdoor settings.
