Job Description

ob Summary:

Provides pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsels’ patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains a supervises assistant pharmacist. Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
Provide information about over-the-counter drugs and make recommendations after talking with the patient.
Counsel patients a medical practitioners on drug indicatio, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
Provides guidance and training to assistant pharmacist during course of work and monitors performance.
Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and record-keeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
Take patient histories as required; makes initial clinical assessments and refers patients to appropriate clinicians.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, a infection control standards.
In addition is also responsible for completion of third-party insurance forms and other paperwork.
Responsible for keeping confidential computerized records of patients’ drug therapies to prevent harmful drug interactions.
Follows insurance companies’ policies and procedures.
Follows DHA regulations
Monitor the nearing expi items in order to dispose them according to policy.
Assure the accuracy of every prescription processed.
Report any violation of departments’ policies and procedure to chief Pharmacist.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives continuous quality improvement objectives and ensure pharmacy staff compliance
Perform any job-related duties as assigned by chief pharmacist.
Stays current on developments within your field of specialization by reading industry publications and seeking information on industry best practices
Consistent with the organization’s values of “teamwork,” “partnership,” and “quality,” works in collaboration with other departments to maximize the patient experience.


Candidate Requirements

Qualification:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
D.Pharamcy

Experience:

Freshers can also apply with hospital experience.
Minimum 1 year experience in UAE hospitals can apply

Knowledge / Technical Skills:

Able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.
Readily and effectively communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.
Fluent in written and spoken English, Arabic fluency is an advantage.
Planning Skills.
Demonstrated organizational skill.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Follow specific instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
A High Degree Of Motivation And Self-Discipline.
Excellent computer skill.
Ability to make sound decisions and take the appropriate action when needed.
