Job Description

Chinese School Dubai, based in Mirdif, Dubai, is the first Chinese overseas preparatory school in the world and opened in September 2020., which is a K-12 school from kindergarten to high school. The school's motto is to "aspire, work hard and serve the public", and its mission is to provide basic education of high-quality for the children of overseas Chinese in Dubai.  The school adopts a full-time Chinese curriculum, including a school-based curriculum, covering all its subjects and related standards, supplemented by local and international courses in Dubai, which includes English, Arabic, morality and civics, and some international courses. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the school will admit pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 6 with small class sizes of no more than 24 students per class and individualized education.

We are looking for an outstanding and experienced English Class Teacher to join our qualified team at Chinese School Dubai from September 2021. As a Teacher, you will be responsible for cultivating the student's interest in education and development. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils, and by their organization of learning resources and the classroom learning environment. Your responsibilities will also include developing and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude.

Assess and record progress and prepare pupils for examinations. By linking pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and developing ways to encourage it further, and challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.


Candidate Requirements

Participate in any relevant meetin development opportunities at the school, which relate to the learners, curriculum or organization of the school including pastoral arrangements and assemblies.

Work as a team member and identify opportunities for working with colleagues and sharing the development of effective practice with them.

Contribute to the selection and professional development of other teachers and support staff including the induction and assessment of new teachers, teachers serving induction periods and where appropriate threshold assessments.

Ensure that colleagues working with you are appropriately involved in supporting learning and understand the roles they are expected to fulfil.

Take part as required in the review, development and management of the activities relating to the curriculum, organization and pastoral functions of the school.

Cover for absent colleagues within the remit of the current teachers’ manual.
