About the Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to lead the accountancy team.
You will work with the directors helping achieve the strategy and direction of the business that drives forward our next phase of growth. You will be expected to provide accurate financial information to enable informed decision making. You will seek to emance the financial reporting environment, driving
change and improvevements to provide efficiencies.
You will be at home working with Sage or Xero. In fact, using software to make your life easier won't phase you.
Other Dulles & Responsibilities;
• You will be at home working with Sage or Xero. In fact, using software to make your life won't phase you.
• Maintaining the companies' sales and purchseledgers.
• Matching delivery notes with purchase ledger invoices. Coding and entering the invoices against each contract and dealing with any invoice queries by liaising with internal management and
suppliers.
• Calculating and entering against each contract an accrual for plant and materials received but not yet invoiced
• Raising supplier payments.
• Allocating receipts toinvoices. Resolving any sales invoice queries by liaising with internal management and customers.
• Processing payroll for employees on a week basis lncluding pensions. Perform weeklv bank reconciliations to Sage.
• Liaising with quantity surveyors and product.on teams regarding contract costs.
Complete and review the monthly managerrent accounts including producing separate contract oosts. Thiswill Include calculating sales and icorporating subcontractor costs from the monthly CVR's prepared by the quantity surveyors.
Monthly P&l reviews (induding detailed gro;.s profit,wages, contract reven and overhead analysis) and responsiblefor the collation,review and challenge of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Submission of CIS returns to HMRC
• Submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC and dealing with any HMRC correspondence 1nclud1ng VAT return queries,etc.
• Managing all forms of Company taXes includ ng Corporation Tax Including liaison with external auditorsand taX authorities
• Assisting with the production of amual budgets.
Production of year-end audit pack and resolving any audit queries.
About You
You will be a qualifled Management Accountant (AC will have a high level of focus, attention to detail and great presentation skills in order to communicate your ideas and conclusions to the directors. The successful candidate should possess the following skills, experience and attributes.
• You will be working with Sage or Xero. In fact, using software to make your Ille easier won't phase you.
• Experience of month end close processes.
• Good knowledge of professional accounting standards.
• Good knowledge of transactional accounting and dose ptocesses.
• Good knowledge of ITsystems especially Sage SOAccounts, Sage
• SO Payroll and Excel Experience in the construction industry and contract accounting desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills and a meticulous approach to problem soMng.
• Ability to demonstrate clear, concise wnttenandver communication.
• Uses their own judgement to make decisions and escalate problem when necessary. Adapts and reacts well tochanging priorities and requirements.
• Acts inclusively,treats all people \Nlth respect m a fair and consistent manner.
• Takes ownership to identify, solve and CM!fcome challenges. Must be able towork to time timescales and meet deadlines. Leads by eicample and delivers on commitments.
