Job Description

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of conducting environmental and social impact assessment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to international standards, with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience. With excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will be able to lead the execution of environmental assessment projects around the Kingdom with confidence and have a working knowledge of Saudi Aramco, the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection (GAMEP) and Royal Commission (RC) environmental legislation and standards.  
Candidates will have a high level of personal responsibility and an adaptable and flexible approach to project and client requirements. 
Technical & Functional Responsibilities:
Duties associated with this post will include:
Lead the environmental assessment of projects located around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;
Manage, coordinate and participate in field surveys to industry standards;
Coordinate the development of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), including the preparation of assessment chapters and supporting technical reports, to both national and international assessment frameworks;
Experience of addressing the UNs Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change, GHG emissions, Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services within the context of environmental and social impact assessment and reporting;
Preparation of Environmental Permitting documents in compliance with GAMEP and RC permitting requirements;
Coordinate and prepare robust Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) which incorporate all applicable environmental commitments;
Lead client facing interviews and chair meetings with Jacobs ZATE project engineers and client representatives;
Prepare weekly and monthly project reports to high standards of technical content and quality;
Undertake research and apply creative and logical thinking to find, evaluate and implement innovative approaches / solutions to project challenges;
Provide client advice and support on technical matters relating to EIA, environmental permits, and environmental management plans.
 
Training & Experience:
You will hold an environmental science, environmental management degree or equivalent.  Key attributes of the successful candidate include:
Proven experience and a broad knowledge and understanding of the principles of environmental management systems.
Experience of conducting site audits to evaluate compliance with legal frameworks and project specific requirements. 
Strong attention to detail, an ability to apply knowledge to a range of technical situations, and adaptable with the ability to work on a range of projects and proposals.
Strong organizational, numeric and data analysis skills.
Excellent written and oral communication, with demonstrable ability in report writing.
Willingness to travel to client projects located around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Fluency in written and spoken English, and computer literacy.
Full driving license.
