Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will provide valuable support to our chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring that all food preparation, cooking, and cleaning are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the cook or chef in preparing meals, including measuring ingredients, washing and cutting produce, and mixing ingredients
- Keep the kitchen organized, stocked, and clean, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are clean and properly sanitized
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure that all food is kept at safe temperatures
- Unload deliveries and stock inventory correctly, rotating and labeling items to ensure freshness
- Help with dishwashing and cleaning the kitchen and dining area, sweeping, mopping, and taking out the garbage
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling kitchen equipment, using appropriate protective gear as necessary
- Assist with carrying out orders to customers as required
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment to ensure a consistent work space for the culinary team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior kitchen experience is a plus, but training will be provided for entry-level candidates
- Ability to follow directions and instructions
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others in a professional and courteous manner
- Good communication and listening skills
- Flexibility with hours and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Must be able to stand and move for long periods of time
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Must be in good physical condition with no allergies or health restrictions on kitchen work
