Job Description

The Production and Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the entire production and operational activities within the apparel industry or a fashion brand. This role involves overseeing the production process, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, optimizing resources, and managing teams to meet business objectives in the UAE.
Responsibilities include managing production schedules, coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers, overseeing quality control, optimizing workflow, negotiating contracts, monitoring budgets, and collaborating closely with design, sourcing, and distribution teams to ensure products meet quality standards and are delivered on time. Additionally, they may be involved in resolving production issues, implementing process improvements, and staying updated on fashion industry trends and technologies to enhance production efficiency.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Production Management
•Develop production plans, schedules, and meet production targets and timelines and implement production strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
•Coordinate with different departments (design, sourcing, manufacturing) to ensure smooth production flow and lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of production processes to achieve operational excellence.
•Monitor production metrics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in productivity and cost-efficiency.
2.Production Oversight & Quality Assurance
•Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
•Establish and maintain quality control procedures, conduct regular inspections, audits and tests to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulations.
3.Supply Chain and Inventory Management
•Manage supply chain activities, including procurement, vendor relationships, and inventory control.
•Optimize supply chain processes to minimize lead times and reduce production costs.
•Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.
4.Team Management
•Supervise and manage production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
•Conduct performance evaluations, set KPIs, and provide training and development opportunities to team members.
5.Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement
•Implement best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
•Identify areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization while ensuring product quality.
6.Compliance and Safety
•Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, health and safety protocols in all operations.
•Implement measures to maintain a safe working environment for employees.
•Budgeting and Cost Management.
7.Communication and Collaboration
•Liaise with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, sales, and logistics, to align production strategies with business goals.
•Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on production status, challenges, and solutions.
8.Problem-solving and Decision-making
•Address production-related issues promptly, make informed decisions, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Technical Skills Required
•Familiarity with relevant software for production planning, inventory management, and other industry-specific tools. Preferably Zedonk.

1.Knowledge of Production Processes: Strong understanding of garment construction, manufacturing processes, sourcing, and supply chain management within the fashion sector.

2.Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, ensuring optimal performance, motivation, and collaboration.

3.Organizational Skills: Proficiency in organizing production schedules, managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

4.Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities to liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, designers, and other stakeholders, as well as strong negotiation skills.

5.Problem-Solving Ability: Capacity to identify and resolve production issues efficiently while maintaining product quality and meeting deadlines.

6.Knowledge of Industry Trends: Keeping abreast of the latest fashion trends, materials, and technologies to enhance production processes and product quality.

7.Adaptability and Flexibility: Being able to adapt to changes in production schedules, market demands, or unforeseen challenges within the fashion industry.

Qualification

•A bachelor's degree in fashion design, apparel manufacturing, business, or a related field.
Experience
•8-10 years of progressive experience in production and operations management within the apparel industry or fashion brand, specifically in the UAE market.
Language
•Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous for effective communication.
