Job Description

Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing project schedules and plans to ensure timely execution of construction projects in accordance with client requirements, budget constraints, and regulatory standards. The Planning Engineer will work closely with the Planning Director, project managers, and other project team members to monitor progress, identify potential issues and risks, and develop corrective actions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and maintain the project master schedule in line with the proposal requirements using Primavera P6 software.
•Identify project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.
•Implement the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project through daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
•Coordinate with internal project teams to develop and review the work schedule, progress measurement, and reporting systems. Review status reports, modify schedules and plans as required, and keep management and the Planning Director apprised of progress on a regular basis.
•Develop and maintain package work plans and monitor progress to achieve on-time or earlier deliveries to keep the project on schedule.
•Analyze schedule trends, determine risks, and develop options for corrective action.
•Develop and maintain a schedule development process to include the entire project scope of work, client requirements, schedule hierarchy, division of responsibility, schedule review, approval requirements, and distribution.
•Coordinate with the procurement and engineering teams to ensure project controls doents, such as resource histograms, schedules, reporting systems, and material controls systems, are fully developed and reviewed by construction management.
•Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts to keep the project on track.
•Ensure that Engineering and Procurement interfaces are properly addressed.
•Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Planning Director.


Education a Work Experience Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project planning and scheduling.
•Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 software and other project management tools.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•Knowledge of engineering and civil engineering principles.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
•Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
•Ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks and issues.
