Job Purpose
Project Accountant role involves taking care of books of accounts for a project company and liaising with the clients to ensure timely month end closing and issuing of MIS reports.
Main AccountabilitiesCreate project accounts in the accounting systemMaintain project-related records, including contracts and change ordersAuthorize access to project accountsAuthorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accountsReview and approve supplier invoices related to a projectReview and approve time sheets for work related to a projectReview and approve overhead charges to be applied to a projectReview account totals related to project assets and expensesInvestigate project variances and submit variance reports to managementChase customers for collectionsProcess payments to suppliersProcess salariesReport on project profitability to managementReport to management regarding the remaining funding available for projectsCreate all project-related billings to customersInvestigate all project expenses not billed to customersRespond to requests for more detail from customersClose out project accounts upon project completionCreate and submit tax returnsCompile information for external auditors, as required
Skills:
Language – fluency in written and spoken English.
Computer – Competent in document managementMS Office (EXCEL - commonly used functionalities include (VLOOKUP, Pivots, If, Subtotals etc.)Software packages like XERO, ZOHO, QUICKBOOKS.
Project management – capacity to independently manage your own client’s account finalization, liaising with client and others and troubleshooting.
Qualifications: CA Inter qualification will be preferred. Please don’t apply in case if you are pursing CA finals
Total Experience:
Four years of work experience in accounting and taxation field including at least 2 years in project accounting.
Relevant Experience:
Minimum two years of work experience in project accounting.
