The College of the North Atlantic - Qatar is inviting nominations and applications for the position Section Head – Software Development in the Information Technology Department. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Section Head – Software Development must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Information Technology Department in fully implementing the College’s mission and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities:
This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the software development team. Additionally, the candidate will also be responsible for planning and implementing project schedules, manage technical resources, coordinating with all development stakeholders, and manage a team of software support analysts and technicians to meet CNA-Q’s strategic and operational objectives.
Candidates will provide technical oversight for the Software Development team, and ensure the appropriate design and build of IT solutions, ensure all Business Applications are aligned as per business requirements and identify and implement IT and project management training to improve the long-term performance of Software Development team. will also contribute in the development of the IT policies, procedures, processes and guidelines.
Candidates will oversee the analysis and diagnosis of IT related issues of Software Development team member’s, lead the development of solutions and ensure problem resolution in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Furthermore, will lead the identification of new technology needs, including new software products or enhancements to existing products, identify and engage appropriate internal resources to resolve technical issues and update clients on progress toward resolution.
Candidates will oversee the documentation for IT projects, reports on key Software Development statistics, including change requests and enhancement trends, and make recommendations to the IT Manager, Departmental Managers and Executive Management and software support logs to track performance and identify trends and opportunities, and review recommendations for process improvements.
Candidates will lead the development of tools to collect, store, manage, secure and distribute data to employees, who need access to the latest information in order to make decisions about strategic, financial and operational issues, Coordinate with IT Security Senior Specialist to ensure that corporate data is protected against attacks from viruses, cyber criminals and other threats and oversee training provided on new software or network facilities, to ensure that training is provided in a timely and efficient manner.
The Section Head – Software Development will be required to provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates to contribute to the development of employees and must have excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, delegation and communications skills as well as the ability to act as a mentor to team members.
