Job Description

Key Accountability Areas
Key Activities
 Performance Management & Commercial support
·         Support the business teams on a wider scale, in delivering commercial and financial performance.
·         Support the Finance Manager to provide timely and constructive challenge of progress against milestones, KPIs and budgets.
·         Responsible for delivery of Lubricants of several internal reporting processes, including monthly performance MI and cash forecasting, in support of MEKSA leadership decision making.
·         Coordinate the preparation of annual plan and quarterly forecasts
·         Working very close with MEKSA finance team and the business to ensure the provision of accurate and timely Planning & Forecasting information
·         Provide financial information of high integrity up the line for both internal and external reporting at the BP Group and other levels (MI, GFO, forecast and actuals).
·         Identify and execute opportunities to streamline all reporting requirements through a continuous improvement cycle.
·         Provide support to ALC Commercial decision making, where appropriate including participating in working capital and rebates (R1/R2) decisions.
·         Ensure that the investments in trade loans or capex are properly evaluated according to BP group standards and procedures (this includes compliance with GIAAP). Manage the JV’s effective application of BP Group commercial processes and services.
·         The role is accountable to enable automation and transition of data into Power BI database.
·         Lead the development and improvement of financial models, processes and approaches used by Finance
 
 
 
Accounting & Control
·         Support the month end closing process and continuously strive to automate month end closing process.
·         Lead role in stock, monthly reconciliations, reporting, Power BI, SLOBs, Pricing controllership, Performance packs, FBW (finance-business-warehouse) data submission.
·         Support timely month end close processes and be accountable for the integrity of all financial data used in planning or performance / financial reporting.
·         Understand and support application of all BP group control and accounting policies.
·         Support tax compliance including tax payments, deductions, etc. are done in a timely manner and all statutory filings are duly completed.
·         The role is one of the key roles for month end closing tasks including lead on costing, inventory, fixed assets accounting, accounting of business rebates and deliver business analysis of distributor in Saudi Arabia.
·         Includes reporting to MEKSA cluster and global SPU head quarter requirements.
·         Ensure that APMLC has adequate provisions, including credit reserves and internal expense liabilities
·         Ensure proper implementation of accounting programs and systems to control APMLC’s financial assets and provide complete and accurate financial information and records 
·         Act as an escalation point for financial, accounting, and investment issues.
·         Lease accounting.
·         Arabization of accounts.
·         Support Audit process for the company.
·         Support Fixed Assets register & depreciation accounting.
·         Coordinator with supply chain and business for costing, commercial matters.
·         Payment processing.
Budget
·         Oversee Finance and company’s budgeting / forecasting cycle and support the Finance Manager in the budgeting process.
·         Develop methods that result in positive financial impact for APMLC and mitigates financial and operational risks
·         Prepare, submit and justify budget enhancement requests to APMLC’s GM
·         Engage with key stakeholders and assist in the preparation of financial reports, including month-end and quarter-end close for the business activities, to provide insights for the business providing relevant challenge and verification.
·         Bridge the gap between financial reporting and business understanding by measuring and providing commentary on forecast variances to facilitate decision-making and ensure forecasts remain accurate and robust.
·         Identifies strategic and financial risks, and provides an independent viewpoint to evaluate both opportunities and impact of risks on performance e.g. through tornado charts.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
·         support implementation of Finance’s policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls as per BP requirements.
External relationships
·         Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Banks, auditor, and legal consultants.
·         Establish and manage relationships with key officials representing authorities – SAGIA, Zakat, Income tax, etc.
·         Co-ordinate with the BP Systems manager, Middle East and India to ensure services provided by the IT team are responsive to the needs of the business.
