A leading supermarket in Dubai, is seeking dedicated and customer-oriented Cashiers to join our team. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing efficient and friendly service to our customers during their checkout process. You will handle transactions, process payments, and ensure accurate cash handling. The ideal candidate has strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and assist them during the checkout process
Scan and process items accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system
Accept cash, credit card, and other forms of payment and provide accurate change
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including bagging items and handling reusable bags
Answer customer inquiries and provide information about products, prices, and promotions
Resolve customer complaints or direct them to the appropriate supervisor
Ensure accuracy in pricing and discounts, scanning items, and applying coupons
Monitor and manage the availability of shopping bags, receipt paper, and other supplies
Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by conducting spot checks and reporting discrepancies
Adhere to all cash handling and loss prevention procedures
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service
Previous experience as a Cashier, preferably in a supermarket or retail environment, is preferred
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
Familiarity with operating a point-of-sale system
Basic knowledge of product pricing, discounts, and promotions
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when required
Knowledge of multiple languages is an advantage
