Job Description:
We are currently seeking for a reliable and professional Taxi Driver to transport passengers safely to their desired destinations. The ideal candidate must have excellent driving skills, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide safe and reliable transportation services to passengers
- Pick up passengers from designated locations and transport them to their desired destination efficiently and safely
- Record and collect fares from passengers
- Operate the taxi according to all traffic and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance of the taxi both inside and outside, complying with vehicle upkeep requirements
- Respond promptly to radio or phone calls from dispatchers and maintain communication for accurate location updates
- Inform passengers of taxi fares, eligibility for discounts, and accepted payment methods
- Provide assistance to passengers with disabilities or carrying a lot of luggage
- Properly read and follow maps or GPS for navigation, selecting the best routes in consideration of traffic and weather conditions
- Maintain communication with the base dispatch office, cooperating to ensure timely and efficient service
- Ensure that the taxi is appropriately fueled, maintained, and ready for the next passenger
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Proven previous experience as a taxi driver
- Good knowledge of local city streets to efficiently navigate routes
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain good hygiene, personal appearance, and positive attitudes with clients
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair is an advantage
- Must be physically fit to assist passengers with their luggage
- Must pass a criminal background and driving record check
