Job Description

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

Key Accountabilities:

Compile, validate, perform implement a variety of monitoring, recording and controlling tasks that ensure the safe manufacture of food products within the food manufacturing and production operations of Roya Factory for Food Products are achieved.

Key Tasks

• Operate and supervise the overall technical function within the terms and guidelines of the Quality and safety policies
• Ensure that the company’s reputation for food quality and service is enhanced with our customers
• Review existing monitoring and Quality assurance systems. Make amendments and reissue as and when necessary in accordance with changes in procedure, policy and legislation.
• To recruit, train and manage technical departmental staff as and when required.
• Ensure the collection of correct information from all departments on a dai basis.
• Supervise quality control staff to ensure all Technical aspec of the business is being complied with and fulfilled.
• Ensure the Company’s Policies and statements are applied continuously, and that the company’s statements and policies are continually reviewed and amended to avoid breach of any local or statutory legislation.
• Take a proactive approach in ensuring standards are met and maintained to comply with GMP guidelines set down by the SFDA, HACCP and any other Auditing body.
• Facilitate meetings with external Auditing bodies such as SGS, etc.
• Ensure regular internal audits are carried out to monitor and validate internal systems and practices.
• Chair the monthly HACCP team meetings.
• Complete and submit brief monthly reports to the management team meeting relating to technical issues, progress, and future requirements.
• Attend to your duties at times specified by your line manager or dictated by work levels
• Conduct the induction and training of all new employees on Food safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, HACCP and Health and Safety.
• Make recommendations for improvements to the current operation from the technical aspect and with a view to improved efficiencies.
• Keep abreast of news and changes in the industry that m affect our operation. This can be done via networking, industry journals, trade shows etc,
• Conduct evaluation audits of our suppliers to determine compliance as and when required. Submitting reports to the supplier and making recommendations to the management team of any further action.
• Ensure the sampling schedule is applied for finished, in process, raw materials and swabs. Submitting reports to the management team along with recommendations for required remedial action in the event of non conformances.
• Monitor and review the training records for all employees. Ensuring that retraining takes place when necessary and any requirements for new training is identified and applied.
• Review the current cleaning schedules and specifications. Make amendments as and when required. Carrying out any training required as and when identified.
• Liaise with the Pest Control contractors when on site and at times when pest activity is reported.
• Liaise with laundry, sanitary bin, air fresheners and dust mat contractors when on site and if issues in the service may arise.
• Liaise with chemical supply companies and if issues in the service may arise.
• Liaise with engineering contractors if non conformances arise with food safety equipment such as metal detectors, scales, and probes.
• Investigate and respond to customer comments or complaints regarding food quality, safety, or allegations of food poisoning.
• Always maintain easily accessib record keeping systems.
• Facilitate visits with the Local Environmental Health Authority and Liaise with them in event of non conformances that effect public food safety.
• You will be required to attend seminars and workshops to remain abreast of current issues affecting the technical aspect of our business.
• The collation of all information pertaining to the product specifications for each product manufactured by Roya Factory for Food Products. The information gathered will also be used to produce the nutritional tables and Ingredient declarations that appear on the labels of each product manufactured.


Candidate Requirements

Academic:

Formal Higher Qualification in Food Technology, Food Safety, Food Hygiene including HACCP, Risk Assessment and COSHH

Related Experience:

Minimum 5 years previous experience in a senior Technical Post within a food manufacturing environment is essential.

Engli / Read / Write
