Responsibilities:
System Operation:
Operate and monitor computer systems, including servers, mainframes, and network equipment.
Execute scheduled jobs and ensure timely completion.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Data Management:
Perform data backups and restoration as needed.
Monitor and manage storage resources.
Ensure data integrity and security.
Job Scheduling:
Schedule and coordinate batch processing jobs.
Monitor job queues and prioritize tasks.
Address job failures and take appropriate corrective actions.
System Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain software applications.
Perform routine system maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with the IT team to apply updates and patches.
Doentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date doentation of system configurations and procedures.
Generate reports on system performance and usage.
User Support:
Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot user-related issues.
Assist in training users on system functionalities.
Security Compliance:
Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures.
Monitor system logs for unusual activities and security breaches.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional certifications in computer operations or related fields are a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience in computer operations or a similar role.
Familiarity with mainframe and server operating systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting computer systems.
Knowledge of scripting languages is a plus.
Familiarity with network protocols and configurations.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Communication:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
