Position Overview

The University of Calgary opened its first overseas branch campus with generous financial support from the State of Qatar and began delivering undergraduate nursing programs in 2007. Since then, the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) has been educating the future nursing leaders in Qatar by offering Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing programs accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).

UCQ is currently seeking a Junior Data Administrator or Analyst who can start preferably in March 2024. The role is Part-time with hours that may fluctuate based on operational need and will conclude no later than August 2025.

Reporting directly to the President, with day-today operational instruction from the Associate Dean, Program Innovation and Quality (AD, PIQ) the Analyst plays a critical role in the transformation of data into value added information for dissemination to key stakeholders. The inbent, will work collaboratively with other members of the UCQ team as well as other University stakeholders to gather, interpret, critically evaluate, and synthesize business information requirements from key constituents that will form the basis of analyses and reporting. Background in records management would also be an asset. They will be key communicators with internal and external stakeholders for assigned tasks. Fluency in Arabic is essential.

Key qualities include data analysis and management, problem-solving, organizational and communications skills. The individual must be a self-starter, with a positive disposition, and excellent time management abilities. They must also possess an innate sense of curiosity, pace, and urgency, as they uncover hidden insight and actionable value from available and new sources of data.

The work requires sound judgment, diplomacy, tact, project management, decision-making, and the ability to manage fluid expectations, projects and deadlines.

Key Accountabilities:
•Responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of institutional information as needed
•Identify, anticipate, and prepare data and information reporting needs of the University of Qatar and its Board of Trustees, and other
stakeholders including various ministries
•Will be supporting key surveys and reports relating to accreditation, student experience or governmental requests.
•Assists Associate Dean, Program Innovation and Quality in briefing notes, presenting findings to senior leadership and Board of
Trustees
•Communicates with internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries, report requests, survey distribution, and follow up.
•Ensure files are complete and advises or leads record management processes
•Communicates results of data analysis through formal presentations, narratives, and written reports tailored to target audiences in
Arabic and English

Qualificatio Required:
•A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Economics, Statistics, Business, Information Management, or any other
relevant degree from an accredited institution.

•Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst or Manager, preferably in a healthcare or educational setting

•Fluency in Arabic reading, writing, and speaking

•Expertise with records management practices and procedures

•Experience with a variety of business software, especially Microsoft Excel, Power BI or Tableau, and Qualtrics

•Experience working in institutional research and planning capacity including business intelligence and data modeling is preferred

•Knowledge of survey development, administration, analysis and reporting
